Registration: Registration is NOW open (June 19th) and will close on August 15.
RRMHA Registration Information 2024/2025
We are excited to be gearing up for the 2024/2025 hockey season! Please take the time to read this information – we realize there is a lot here but please take note of what is applicable to you/your player. If you have any questions about registration, please contact Sam Preteau at: RRMHATreasurer@gmail.com.
NEW PLAYERS: If your child is new to hockey, please create a new profile for them. *Please make sure
to enter their birthday correctly as this is key to searching for members in the system (i.e. watch that
the month and date are in the correct order). All new players require one parent to complete their
Parent Respect in Sport prior to November 1st (https://parent.respectgroupinc.com/koala_final/)
It is important to note that this is different to the coach Respect in Sport that is required by all team
staff.
Optional: There is an option to purchase socks if you need for U9 and older. All players will require
game socks, both the white and black sets. They are the same as the 2023/2024 ones so you do not
need to purchase new pairs if your child has.
RETURNING PLAYERS: if your child has played hockey (with ANY Association in Canada), please search
for them in the system and link them. DO NOT create a new account. If for some reason you cannot
find your child’s profile, please contact RRMHATreasurer@gmail.com for assistance.
ALL PLAYERS: All players in RRMHA catchment are REQUIRED (by Hockey MB) to register in their home
Association, regardless of whether or not they are planning to play in that Association. Please take
note for the following options in case any of these are applicable to you.
U13 REGISTRATION ONLY: Please use this category if your child is in U13 and trying out for a AA team
(this assumes that if your child does not make the team they are trying out for they will return to
RRMHA).
U15 &U18 Female Registration ($0.00): Please use this category if your female player is planning to
play on a female team outside of RRMHA. At this time, RRMHA does not have a U15 female or U18
female team.
U15 & U18 Registration Only ($0.00): Please use this category if your male player is trying out for a
team outside of RRMHA. This assumes that, should your child not make their higher-level team, they
plan to return to play in RRMHA.
Payment: Payment options are: Credit card; cheque; e-transfer (RRMHAtreasurer@gmail.com).
Payment installments will be for Oct 1, Nov 1, Dec 1 as in the past. If paying by cheques, please remit
postdated cheques (or full payment) prior to Oct. 1.
*** If you choose the cheque option, and do NOT either pay in full or provide three cheques dated as
above by Oct. 1, there will be a $25 charge added to your account. If you fail to pay anything prior
to Nov. 1 your child will be ineligible to play until the fee is paid in full.***
MMF Funding: for any of you who apply for MMF funding, RRMHA will now require payment in full
(postdated is fine). MMF used to send the payment to RRMHA, so we had allowed people to simply
pay the difference. However, sometimes the payment has been sent directly to the applicant, and
RRMHA has no way of knowing where the funds will be sent. Thus, unfortunately, RRMHA will require
full payment to be received, and then should MMF send funds to the Association, individuals will be
reimbursed.
Team Staff: If you are interested in coaching, managing, or being the safety please enter your
information in the HCR system, and register under RRMHA Bench Staff. If you have played, refereed or
coached in Canada, you will have a profile. Please find your profile in this case (do NOT create a new
one). If you have never played, refereed, or coached, please create a new profile in the HCR system.
Members can now check their credentials to see if they have the required certification. Currently the
only course that expires is the Respect in Sport (valid for 5 years). Please visit the following link for
more information on how to check your credentials and on how to register for courses.

***All team staff are required to do a Child Abuse Registry Check yearly (as per Hockey MB’s
requirement). Please fill out the required form (on RRMHA’s website) and send it to the Coach
Convenor, Eric Musick, at RRMHAcoachconvenor@gmail.com.
Team Staff Certification: Certification must be completed prior to December 1st
Hockey MB charges
$50 for any uncertified team staff members on the roster, and RRMHA will pass this fine on to the
individual. ALL certification requirements and links can be found on the Hockey Manitoba website
(https://www.hockeymanitoba.ca/). Under the “coaches” tab you can find all the certification
information, as well as the page for “bench staff”.
ALL Team Staff: require Respect in Sport (valid for 5 years) https://hmb.respectgroupinc.com/
Safety: Also require the Safety course.
Coaches: U7 – Coach 1 (intro to coach)
U9 – Coach 1 or 2
U11 and up – Coach 2
Head Coaches of U11-U15 also require “Checking 1”.
*The coaching courses can all be accessed via the HCR 3.1 platform (same portal as where you will
register your child(ren) for the season).
Parent Respect in Sport: If you have taken this course for another child, or for another sport, you do
NOT need to retake the course. Please log into your Parent RIS account and add the new player to
your profile. If you have taken it for another sport, you will need to attach “Rat River Minor Hockey” to
your profile to allow the information to be shared with the HCR system.
Pre-Season Skates: RRMHA is working at securing ice for a pre-season skates for U9-U15. Please
watch the website for information. Camp registration will be done through the same portal as the
winter season registration. RRMHA is committed to player development, and have allocated funds
accordingly in the new season budget. There will be a fee of $50 per player for the pre-season skates
to offset some of the expenses for these. Please note that payment is required prior to being able to
attend these skates.
Evaluation information: RRMHA is planning to have evaluations in St. Malo Arena in September 2024.
Please watch the website for information.
Multiple Registrations:The system will make you register for each item separately for the same child
(i.e. you will have to complete the pre-season skate registration (and check-out), and then you can
return to register for the season (or vice versa). You cannot add multiple registrations to the cart for
the same child. If you are registering multiple children, you will be able to complete all pre-season
registrations in the same order, and all in-season registrations in the same order.
