Thank you for volunteering to coach a Rat River Minor Hockey Team! As an Association, we host our own Coaches Clinic each fall to help provide the necessary tools and resources to support our coaches.  We aim to offer unique skills and training essential for all coaches, and hope that you gain useful information to help our athletes succeed!

Coaches will have to take an extra training course over an above the Hockey MB requirements to coach at that level as per Hockey MB link:

Eastman is setting the following new requirements for all coaches for the upcoming 2025/26 season. Head coaches and assistant coaches must take the Hockey MB coach course that are listed under the age group they will be coaching. 

 U7- Skating 1 1.5 hour online instruction via zoom

U9- Goaltending 1 1.5 hour online instruction via zoom

U11-Competitive Small Area Games 1.5 hour online instruction via zoom

U13- Checking at your own pace.

Learning Lab will be launched Sept.1st. 

All courses have online options and don’t need to be in person.  Some will be set dates that coaches will have to attend/register for a zoom call that’s hosted by Hockey MB facilitator. 

Checking is the only one you can do online at your own pace as it's not held in person. 

There is no cost to any of these courses. 

Associations will make sure their coaches have the certifications done by the roster deadline or associations will be fined $150 for every coach that doesn't comply to the following: 

1.) Proper coach level for Hockey MB:
